Knotty Knits and Naughty Kids: Baby Cocoon

An interesting way to machine knit Baby Cocoons, but do babies in the UK use these or do we still use shawls and sleep suits? Our neighbours  are expecting a new baby in December but Cocoons seem rather alien to me!

Eastbourne is lovely at this time of year! The Carpet Gardens are just being replanted with an Olympic and Jubilee theme. Let's hope the weather lasts for all the Bank Holiday celebrations which have been planned for us all.

2011 has been a mix of good and bad but I want to start 2012 on a positive note.

My New Year Resolutions are about to be made........I'm not telling what they are at the moment but I do mean to try to keep them this year!!

Julie has put me to shame by producing a recycle project every week on her recycle4real website & blog, if you haven't been following it have a look now. It's very inspiring and I'm very proud of her for sticking at it.

One of my aims for 2012 is to get more organised and find more time for crafting, too much time is being wasted!

Garden pics...... Before and after landscaping.

It was a long job but well worth the wait.

I have been busy replanting the garden and holidaying in Malta so have not kept up with my blog!!!!

I have however also been busy with various craft pursuits. I attended another willow weaving workshop and this time I made a willow ball! Photos to follow.

I have also bought an old Ashford spinning wheel. I am very new to spinning and will need a great deal of practice and patience before I produce any useful yarn! Its very much like patting your head and rubbing your tummy!!!

I have bought myself a bike to keep me fit! Everyone says you never forget how to ride a bike but I have the bruises to prove them wrong! Can anyone explain why I now have 18 gears when 3 was always quite satisfactory? More practice required again!

Last Saturday I went to the East Sussex Guild of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers exhibition. It was a wonderful display and I bought lots of fleece for my new hobby. I also attended a nuno felting demo and would love to have a go at that as well. So many crafts, so little time!

Must try to keep up with the blog as it helps to concentrate the mind!
